Greece will be the guest country of VieVinum (May 25th to 27th). According to the fair's announcement, 20 Greek producers will set up their stands in the Rittersaal of the Vienna Hofburg. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to taste wines from nine producers at the 'Greek Wine Bar.' Furthermore, a masterclass is scheduled for the fair's Sunday from 3.15 pm to 4.30 pm.
Among the exhibiting companies are very large producers such as Cavino, which includes their partnered cooperative Santo Wines, Greek Wine Cellars, and other well-known names like Boutari, Xinomavro legend Kir Yianni, and organic producer Biblia Chora. The latter gained fame through the discovery of a previously forgotten indigenous grape variety at the foot of Mount Pangeon in 2009.
VieVinum is Austria's major wine fair, primarily utilized by domestic producers. It takes place every two years in Vienna. In the mornings, it's exclusively for trade visitors, while from 1 pm to 6 pm, it opens to the general public. The guest regions of the last edition in 2022 were Sicily and South Tyrol. In 2024, alongside the Greek guests, there will be 22 exhibitors from Germany, six from Italy, four from Slovenia, and one stand each from Azerbaijan, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Ukraine presenting their wines. This will be alongside 492 exhibitors from Austria.
