During the second weekend of June, Munich hosted the third “100% Champagne” event. For the first time, exactly 50 producers attended. Visitors at the MTC World of Fashion in the northern part of the Bavarian capital had the chance to sample and learn about the vast diversity of the champagne world. Attendees ranged from small-scale vintners with just 4 ha/10 ac of vineyards, producing less than 60 bottles for the German market, to the major international icons of the champagne industry.
This unique event for the German-speaking region has gained a solid reputation. In June, Meininger’s publishing house welcomed 350 private champagne enthusiasts, including some restaurant owners. Many producers expressed surprise and delight at the guests' interest and expertise, with some traveling several hundred kilometers to attend. Monday, reserved for trade visitors, saw 280 restaurateurs, retailers, and press representatives take the opportunity to delve deeply into the multifaceted world of champagne. A series of fully booked masterclasses complemented the offerings for visitors on both days.
“We are thrilled that our concept is so well received and that the fan base continues to grow. It's no surprise: champagne is incomparable to any other beverage in the world,” summarizes Sascha Speicher, editor-in-chief of Champagne Magazine and co-organizer of the event. “It's very important to us that we can present the entire diversity of the champagne world in Munich: luxury and craftsmanship, style and terroir.”
The next “100% Champagne” is expected to take place on May 25th and 26th, 2025, at the MTC Center in Munich.
