The flagship event of the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW), the IMW Symposium, will be held in Wiesbaden, Germany, from June 29 to July 2, 2023, under the theme "A Taste for the Future". 500 guests from over 40 countries are expected, making the event fully booked.

"We are delighted about the great interest shown by the entire wine world in this year's symposium, which sold out early," says Julian Gore-Booth, managing director of the IMW.

In addition to 100 Masters of Wine and numerous networking opportunities, many other well-known personalities from the international wine world will be among the guests. More than 30 speakers are expected, including celebrities such as Hollywood star and winery owner John Malkovich and Argentine winemaker Dr. Laura Catena from the Catena Zapata winery, who received the honorary prize at this year's MEININGER AWARDS

Historically, the Symposia have been held every two to five years, with the most recent Symposium taking place in Logroño, La Rioja, in 2018. Previous symposia were held in Florence in 2014, Bordeaux in 2010, Napa in 2006, Vienna in 2002, Perth in 1997, Bristol in 1992, and Oxford for the first time in 1990. PD
