Alsace is bubbling

The production of Crémant d´Alsace reached 220,000 hectolitres in 2006.That corresponds to 29 million bottles, twenty percent of the total AOC production in the region. Alsace is now Frances´largest supplier ofsparkling AOC wine

with 29% of the total volume. The region´s major export markets are Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Exports accounted for 3.7 million of the 25.5 million bottles sold last year,at an average price of 4.58 Euro per bottle.
