The Power 100 compares the performance of wine brands traded on Liv-ex. The list only includes brands which have at least three wines or vintages on the market with a total value of at least £10,000 (€11,500). Key factors are the average prices and rises/falls; trading volume by value and volume on Liv-ex and the number of wines traded.

Burgundy is the strongest region in the fine wine sector. 39 out of 100 brands come from this region, six more than in the previous year. "Burgundy dominates this year's list, once again proving its appeal to collectors", comments Katherine Hewitt from Liv-ex. Bordeaux follows behind with 25 brands, five fewer than last year. With 12 brands, Italy is the third largest Power 100 origin, ahead of Champagne with nine brands.

As in the previous year, Domaine Leroy takes first place in the overall ranking. It is followed by Arnoux-Lachaux, which jumped from 62nd to second place, Leflaive, Armand Rousseau and Prieuré Roch. With Dom Pérignon (6th), Roederer (7th) and Krug (10th), three champagne brands are in the top 10. Romanée Conti is in 8th place.

The Bordeaux elites Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Mouton Rothschild, Pétrus, Château Margaux fall out of the top 10, as does the Italian Sassicaia. Egon Müller drops from 84th place to 110th.

In total, around 12,300 different wines were traded on Liv-ex in the corresponding period, grouped into almost 1,700 brands. (SW)
