Henkell Freixenet Parts Ways with CFO

Dr. Nikolaus Hagenberg has quietly departed Henkell Freixenet, with his responsibilities being taken over by a familiar figure within the company.

As reported by the German trade publication Lebensmittelzeitung on November 22, 2024, Henkell Freixenet Germany’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Dr. Nikolaus Hagenberg, has left the company. Henkell Freixenet confirmed the change to our sister magazine Weinwirtschaft but declined to provide further details regarding his departure.

Hagenberg left his position in October, although he has not yet updated his social media profiles to reflect the change. In the interim, CEO Dr. Andreas Brokemper, who oversees German operations, has assumed responsibility for the Finance and Controlling departments. It remains unclear whether the Wiesbaden-based group is planning to appoint a new CFO.
 

Dr. Nikolaus Hagenberg exits after record year

Dr. Nikolaus Hagenberg joined Henkell Freixenet after serving in various roles at Oetker KG since 2011. At Henkell Freixenet, Hagenberg advanced from Head of Finance & IT to CFO, playing a key role during a period of significant growth.

In spring 2024, the company announced record-breaking revenue. The sparkling wine, wine, and spirits division of Geschwister Oetker Beteiligungen KG closed the 2023 financial year with net revenue (excluding sparkling wine and spirits taxes) of €1.23bn, a 4.1% increase, according to company reports.
