Hermes buys Fourcas-Hosten

by Bernard Burtschy

Château Fourcas Hosten, a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in Listrac, has changed hands. Peter M. F. Sichel from New York, who is the also managing

director of the eponymous shipper in Bordeaux, sold the 200 year old estate to the brothers Laurent und Renaud Mommeja. Sichel, the founder of Blue Nun, bought the property in 1971 with Patrice Pagès. The new investors, who also own the luxury goods concern Hermès, see their purchase as a private matter that will have nothing to do their main business.
