The harvest season has started across large parts of the Southern Hemisphere, in some cases earlier than usual (Australia, Chile) and in others at a more typical timing, which also means later than in recent years (South Africa).

In South Africa, bulk wine brokers from Ciatti are not reporting new prices, as older vintages (including 2024) are largely sold out.

Meanwhile, Chile’s bulk wine exports have surged in 2024, increasing by nearly 20% in volume compared to the previous year. Exports to Spain (+319%) and Italy (+721%) saw particularly sharp increases. This growth is largely due to a shortage of generic base wines in Italy and unusually high prices in Spain, prompting importers to turn to Chilean alternatives.
