Argentina
From an average of around 80 to around 42 cents per litre for generic white wine and from around 89 to around 51 cents for its red counterpart - in view of what is probably the only positive harvest volume expectation in the southern hemisphere, the entry-level segment in Argentina is collapsing sharply, making it much more competitive.
Other countries in the Southern hemisphere
In Australia's red wines, on the other hand, the China effect is already making itself felt with the removal of tariffs, and things are looking up here.
In South Africa, meanwhile, the first 2024 wines are already available and prices are likely to remain stable thanks to good demand at home. Nevertheless, as in Chile and California, for example, vineyards are being abandoned and cleared.
