Knowing About Wine Is Becoming More Important

A survey by Weinfreunde.de shows that wine knowledge is in vogue.

The wine specialist of the German supermarket Rewe, Weinfreunde.de, together with the opinion research institute Appinio, conducted a survey among over 1,500 wine drinkers aged 18 to 75 on the topic of "wine knowledge." The results were instructive: 35.9% of respondents said wine is a frequent topic of conversation among friends, while 37% enjoy telling their guests about the wine they are serving. More than half (53.5%) find the subject of wine interesting. Respondents prefer to drink their wine not only with friends (61%) but also with their partner (59%).

“Drinking wine and talking about it just go well together. It’s most fun when you can impress with your own wine knowledge,” explains Sven Reinbold, Head of Purchasing at Weinfreunde.de.
