Laurent Perrier moves to Suntory

Further evidence of dissatisfaction with the staid Japanese market came with Laurent-Perrier`s sale of its 25% share in importer, Jeroboam. Laurent-Perrier claimed that Jeroboam concentrated on the Tokyo market alone, rather than the domestic market at large, and its goals of greater market penetration would be best achieved via another distribution channel. Laurent-Perrier has been taken on by Suntory while Jeroboam`s Carl Robinson claims that a new Champagne house will soon be part of Jeroboam`s rejuvenated stable.
