The Jura-based pepper mill manufacturer Peugeot Saveurs is launching a new preservation system. The new collection of vacuum pumps, called “Preserve,” is designed to maintain the aromas and flavors of wine, extending its shelf life.

The Preserve vacuum pumps are available in both manual and electric versions, each resembling a pepper mill. The “ABS” version mirrors a classic pepper grinder, while the “Line” offers a more modern aesthetic.

The “Duo” refers to the manual vacuum pump, capable of resealing both still and sparkling wines. According to the manufacturer, it creates a vacuum in under ten seconds and repressurizes sparkling wine to extend its shelf life by up to five days. The electric vacuum pump stops automatically once the optimal vacuum is reached, which happens in less than seven seconds. It can be recharged via USB, with a single charge lasting up to 100 uses.

Both manual pumps will be available starting in October, both in retail and on Peugeot’s online store. The “Line” pump complements the brand’s existing electric corkscrew of the same name. The “ABS” line is priced at €29.90, while the “Line” costs €44.90. In comparison, the electric versions are priced at €69.90 and €89.90. Each version includes two reusable stoppers for wine and one for sparkling wine.
