With revised specifications and new appellations, white wine is gaining ground in traditionally red wine regions. French wine-growing areas are increasingly embracing white grape varieties, challenging long-standing traditions in a bid to attract modern consumers.
From 11 to 1600 – in 1904 eleven founding members established the first wine cooperative in Mezzacorona, in Trentino. Since then, generations of families have devoted themselves to cultivating grapes and conserving their habitat.
The Gigondas appellation has announced that it will also be able to produce white wines with AOC status from the 2023 vintage. The National Institute of Origin and Quality (INAO) has voted in favour of extending the AOC Gigondas to include white wines.
