Jacques Lurton named Winemaker of the Year

by Elsebeth Lohfert

French winemaker Jacques Lurton has been named "Winemaker of the year 2006" by the Danish wine magazine Vinbladet. Publisher and editor-in-chief Peter Winding spoke in his laudation about a true cosmopolitan who has been a master of

..clean wines for the "little" man who now has an alternative to the beer he was once drinking. Of late, Lurton has also added new wines with the sophistication of place and terroir to his portfolio, he continued. A warm, humoristic, energetic man - far larger than the number of bottles he produces".
