Accolade Wines has appointed a new Managing Director for its European operations. According to the Australian trade publication Winetitles, Derek Nicol has been introduced as the successor to the former European Managing Director, Caroline Thompson-Hill. He is set to take up the position on February 1, 2024.

Thompson-Hill held this role for the last four years but is now moving into retail in the United Kingdom, although her new employer is not named. She joined Accolade in 2019 from Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), as revealed by her LinkedIn profile.

This marks a commonality with her successor. According to his LinkedIn profile, Derek Nicol has also worked for TWE twice, from 2009 to 2011 and from 2014 to 2020. Since December 2020, he has been serving as Chief Supply Chain Officer for Accolade Wines. In this position, he will be succeeded by Joe Russo, who has been working as General Manager of Supply Chain and Operations in Australia and New Zealand for Accolade. VM
