Recommending wines poses a significant challenge in e-commerce. Addressing this, the German e-commerce platform Club of Wine has introduced the Wine.Finder, an AI-driven tool designed to simplify the complex and diverse world of wines.

The tool simplifies access to the complex, diverse world of wine. Based on a series of questions, it determines the user's wine preferences and then provides a tailored recommendation. The algorithm demonstrates consistency. Tannin-rich wine for spicy fish? Perhaps a Languedoc? "We have created a digital wine advisor that makes it easier for inexperienced wine lovers to navigate the diverse world of wine. Many people enjoy wine but struggle to find the right product for the moment, given the vast product variety," says Marco Nikolay, CEO of Club of Wine.

The tool was developed by an interdisciplinary team, including wine advisors, Weinakademiker, retail experts, and consumers. Their combined experience and knowledge, along with anonymized customer data, were utilized by developers and AI specialists to create the Wine.Finder.

The Meininger publishing house also supported the Club of Wine project with its data and expertise and awarded it the "Approved by MUNDUS VINI" seal, in reference to the major international wine competition that the publisher organizes twice a year.
