The cooperation was announced during Wine Paris and Vinexpo Paris on 13 February 2023.
The partnership will start in Singapore in May 2023, followed by Seoul in October, Tokyo in November and New York in March 2024. From then on, Le Grand Tasting will accompany the wine fairs. The organizers want to bring together end consumers and producers in addition to the trade event. According to Vinexposium, Le Grand Tasting will take place the day before the respective Vinexpo. The cooperation shall only concern the international fairs, not Wine Paris/Vinexpo Paris.
"We are delighted to collaborate with Bettane+Desseauve, as this new synergy will broaden the scope of our events and help our clients succeed in international markets thanks to a tailor-made offer" said Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium. "It is essential for the wine and spirits industry to maintain strong relationships with consumers in order to adapt to the challenges of declining consumption and remain competitive in a constantly changing market. It gives winemakers the opportunity to get valuable feedback from the people who drink the wine. From this they can see if the wine is meeting consumer expectations and respond if necessary."
Thierry Desseauve, President of Bettane+Desseauve, said: "Bringing the best wines and those who make them together with consumers has been our mission since 2004. Combining our expertise and our events with Vinexposium's know-how and high standards on the international stage is a project that makes sense."
Le Grand Tasting was founded in 2006 by Bettane+Dessauve. The Parisian wine festival now gathers around 12,000 visitors who can taste wines and talk to producers on the spot. ITP
