The allocation process for the 2,600 bottles of the so-called "Lost Barrels" from the Meyer-Näkel winery in the Ahr region is set to commence at the end of December. The price per bottle will also be revealed at that time, as announced by the winery.

These wines, crafted by sisters Dörte and Meike Näkel, were recently introduced for the first time in Berlin at the "Tim Raue" restaurant and then at Thomas Sühring's establishment in Bangkok. A third station is planned for 2024 in New York. The Lost Barrels represent the sole surviving barrels from the winery, salvaged following the catastrophic floods in the Ahr Valley in July 2021.

"We consciously chose not to blend these wines into a cuvée, but rather to preserve them as they were in the barrels," explained Dörte Näkel. "As a result, this collection includes wines that we have not previously matured as single-vineyard offerings, such as the Trotzenberg. Additionally, there are three distinct Lost Barrels wines from various parcels of the Pfarrwingert vineyard, each exhibiting unique and intriguing characteristics."
