France

In France, falling consumption and the comparatively large harvest make significant price increases unlikely, with the exception of white varietal wines from the Languedoc. In the generic red wine sector in particular, the level of distillation subsidies continues to serve as a price floor. Here and there, there are repeated calls for minimum prices. Some self-marketers with good sales are scouring the market for white and premium wines.

Spain

In Spain, white wine prices are rising as a result of the low 2023 harvest. International varietal wines are hardly available. Exports have recently shown a downward trend.

Italy

A low harvest volume is also causing shortages in Italy and entry-level wines in particular are in demand. However, the current economic situation is making it difficult for bottled wine marketers to realize significant price increases, which is also limiting the upward trend in cask wine prices.
